Signing of the United Nations Global Compact

ASAHI INTECC CO., LTD. signed the United Nations Global Compact (hereinafter referred to as“UNGC”), which is advocated by the United Nations, and was registered as a participant on May 15, 2023.

The UNGC is a voluntary initiative for signatory companies and organizations to act as good members of the society and achieve sustainable growth through the demonstration of responsible and creative leadership. Companies that sign the UNGC are required to endorse the Ten Principles related to the four areas of “human rights,” “labour,” “environment” and “anti-corruption,” and continue their efforts to realize these principles with the commitment of their top executives.

The Asahi Intecc Group aims to contribute widely to society by providing to the world the most unique technologies and products of the highest quality, bearing in mind safety and reliability in the fields of medical devices and industrial devices. In our medium-term management plan “ASAHI Going Beyond 1000,” one of our basic strategies is to “Establish Management Foundation for Sustainable Growth” and we are addressing key issues of sustainability in terms of both growth strategy and strengthening of the management base. We will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by supporting and practicing the Ten Principles of the UNGC and further strengthening our commitment to sustainability.

【The Four Areas and Ten Principles of the UNGC】

【Human Rights】

Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and

Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

【Labour】

Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;

Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labour; and

Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

【Environment】

Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

【Anti-Corruption】

Principle10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms,including extortion and bribery
